“I hear I forget. I see I remember. I do I understand.” – Ancient Chinese Proverb
I work on a confidential one to one basis and tailor my advice to your needs.
We start by having an initial conversation and agreeing how we can take a first step together. You are not tied into any programme or commitment, you can have as much or as little of my time and advice as you deem helpful.
We agree an hourly rate but you pay what you think it is worth under my Pay Fair scheme.
You may even find out that you don’t need me but I hope I will have encouraged you or pointed you in the right direction:
“Thanks very much for your time and confirmation I am on the right track. The chat was perfect. Concise, to the point, and little waffle. Exactly what I needed!”
I was a registered and approved Growth Coach for GrowthAcceleartor and currently enjoy mentoring for Entrepreneurial Spark.
For details about my judicial appointment and Silk selection coaching please see the Making Judges section of this site.
I’m increasingly working with many businesses and individuals as a mentor. I’m mentoring with Entrepreneurial Spark in both Leeds and Manchester and am learning so much from the really diverse bunch of individuals and business challenges. The feedback has been really encouraging and I’m delighted to be making a difference:
“Wow… is all we can say. Your input today was fantastic. We learnt more in half hour than we thought possible. Appreciated”
“I really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to help me with my business. It was a great session, lots of really useful feedback. I left feeling really positive.”
I’m also being asked to mentor professionals who want some input in developing their career or addressing specific problems. I offer confidential, personal advice to enable my clients to evaluate their options and confidently take their next steps. I offer down-to-earth practical advice and don’t rely on a single methodology but I’m a big fan of Appreciative Inquiry.
“Many thanks for your excellent help and advice.”
“It was a pleasure to meet you too. You have certainly given me a lot to think about! Thank you for the links.”
“It was great to meet you today and many, many thanks for your help and insight.”
“I thought I would update you on what I’m up to, following our session last year. That seems like such a long time ago… However, the session was a really crucial start…”
I have received excellent feedback for the Leadership & 21st Century Management sessions I have run for Leeds Law Society, at the LPMA national conference and for the IBC in London.
I have given talks on Business Communications: “Send Three and Four Pence We’re Going to Advance” at Bradford University Business School, in Manchester, Leeds and for a firm’s AGM to all 150+ staff at Newark Showground. It seemed to hit the mark:
‘Found Tim really helpful’ | ‘Great talk on communication’ | ‘Really enjoyed Tim’s presentation’ | ‘ such an interesting talk’ | ‘really liked Tim’s talk – full of great references, stories and resource’ | ‘inspiring’
I have run workshops for Judicial Appointment and Silk candidates across the UK in Edinburgh, Oxford, Nottingham, London, Winchester and Cardiff and received very positive feedback.
“Excellent content, relevant and useful. Seminar stands out as one of the most useful Circuit has offered, the experience and knowledge on the subject of the speaker was …..(illegible!).
I have run s as well as university students trying to establish themselves in a number of professions. e.g law and journalism at several universities.
“Just to say a huge thank-you… the session was extremely useful and very clear – your own story telling is good!” Journalism Lecturer.
I am also building a great resource of videos, articles and blogs and I’m happy to share these with you – please just ask. I may have something that will hit the mark:
“Just watched the Brene Brown clip and her one on shame. I can’t thank you enough. I’ve been waiting for someone to put into words they way I have struggled for many years. You identified it in an hour! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.” – Judicial Appointment Client.
